3M™ VHB™ Tape 4622 is a 45.0 mil thick, conformable, double-sided, pressure-sensitive, closed-cell acrylic foam tape with a polyethylene (PE) film liner. 3M™ VHB™ Tape is comprised of closed-cell foam with pressure-sensitive adhesive on two sides. This unique combination offers benefits that screws, rivets, welds and other types of mechanical fasteners just can’t match. In many situations they can replace other permanent fasteners. They are made with acrylic foam which is viscoelastic in nature. This gives the foam energy absorbing and stress relaxing properties which provides these tapes with their unique characteristics. The acrylic chemistry provides outstanding durability performance. 3M™ VHB™ Tape 4622 bonds high surface energy substrates on face side and high/medium surface energy substrates on liner side. It provides handling convenience, cushioning, damping, and impact resistance. It is plasticizer resistant on the liner side.
